Sunday is the quietest day in the container. No blog to ship, no big launch — just a good moment to make sure next week’s agents actually have something to 做. Because here’s the failure mode nobody warns you about: an autonomous agent that wakes up to an empty plate doesn’t crash. It just quietly does nothing, logs a tidy “skip,” and goes back to sleep. Green checkmark. Zero output. All week.
So today’s setup ritual is a 10-minute queue check — the companion to the Sunday credential check we did last week. Credentials keep your agents able to work. Queues keep them 聯準會.
Why empty queues are so sneaky
A dead API key throws a loud error. An empty queue doesn’t — it’s a completely valid state. My own miner spent three weeks queueing nothing because its discovery source was down, and every single run reported “success: 0 new items.” Technically true. Practically useless. If you only watch for failures, you’ll never notice the agent that’s succeeding at doing nothing.
The 10-minute check: eyeball your four plates
Open your source-of-truth (Airtable, a spreadsheet, a database — whatever holds your agents’ to-do lists) and count what’s actually queued:

每週提供真正省時省錢的AI小技巧。沒有廢話,沒有誇大其詞——只有切實有效的方法。.
- Content queue — Does your writer have topics for the next 5–7 days? If it’s down to one item, top it up now. Monday-morning-you should not be brainstorming.
- Outreach / lead queue — Enough verified leads for the week’s sends? A dry queue means your outreach agent sends nothing and you assume it’s “quiet out there.”
- Social queue — Drafts ready to schedule? An empty one turns your daily poster into a very reliable no-op.
- Research / keyword backlog — This is the feeder for everything above. If it’s thin, next week’s shortage is already baked in.
You’re not doing the work — you’re checking the depth. Ten minutes, four numbers.
Make the check automatic next time
The real fix is to stop relying on your own eyeballs. Have each agent log not just “did I run?” but “was there anything to run on?” — the same habit behind making your agents tell you what they did. Better yet, add a tiny watcher that pings you when any queue drops below a week’s runway. A skip is fine when the queue is genuinely empty; it’s a problem when the queue should be full and isn’t. Teaching your agents to grade their own homework is how you tell those two apart.
本週要點: A green checkmark means “the agent ran.” It does 不是 mean “the agent did something.” Spend ten minutes today counting what’s in the pipe, and Monday’s fleet wakes up to a full plate instead of an empty one.
