Is Google Workspace Standard worth it? It definitely is and I am going to tell you why

Google Workspace Standard offers a comprehensive solution for businesses seeking professional email services and substantial cloud storage capabilities. By investing $12 per month, users gain access to 2TB of cloud storage, premium Google Meet features with recording capabilities, and a professional business email setup, making it a cost-effective alternative to standalone services like Dropbox.

The platform’s integration of multiple essential business tools under one subscription makes it particularly valuable for small businesses and entrepreneurs looking to streamline their digital infrastructure.

In my video, I demonstrate how to set up Google Workspace Standard and explore its key features and benefits:

Key Benefits of Google Workspace Standard

The Standard plan at $12 monthly provides significantly more value than individual services. Compared to Dropbox’s $10 monthly fee for just cloud storage, Google Workspace Standard delivers both storage and additional premium features for just $2 more.

Core Features Include:

  • 2TB of cloud storage
  • Professional business email with custom domain
  • Premium Google Meet with recording capabilities
  • Up to 150 participant meetings

Setting Up Google Workspace

The setup process begins by visiting the Google Workspace website and selecting the Standard plan. You’ll need a domain name for your business email – which can be purchased affordably from providers like Namecheap for as little as $1.98 for the first year.

Domain Configuration Steps

The process requires setting up two essential DNS records: a TXT record for domain verification and MX records for email routing. These are configured through your domain registrar’s DNS management interface, with Google providing the specific values needed.

Security Best Practices

During setup, it’s crucial to implement proper password management. I strongly recommend using a password safe application to generate and store secure credentials. This ensures you maintain access to your accounts while keeping them secure across all your devices.

Administrative Control

The workspace can be managed through admin.google.com, where you can access billing information, add users, customize settings, and manage domains. Each additional user costs $12 per month, making it scalable for growing organizations.

So..Is Google Workspace Standard Worth it?

Absolutely, yes. In fact, I think its probably the best thing you can do for your business. And not only is it super valuable and useful, but it is also cheap. I honestly don’t believe there is one single thing you can do for your business than get Workspace. With branded email, 2TB of cloud storage and, essentially, a Zoom-clone in Google Meet, you have all the keys to what modern businesses need to do business right and well. Other than automating your business process, getting Google Workspace is a no-brainer.
