Nobody logs the 跳過. That’s the mistake.

A skip is not nothing. A skip is a decision your agent made — “the queue was empty, so I did nothing” — and if you don’t record 為什麼, you can’t tell the difference between a healthy agent that correctly did nothing and a broken one that silently gave up.

The tip: treat every skip as a first-class outcome

When one of my agents wakes up and finds no work, it doesn’t just exit quietly. It writes a line like this:

SKILL_RESULT: skip | social-miner — Reddit 403 + ScrapeCreators key blank (~20d) | tracker 1217177079932904

That single line answers three questions I’d otherwise have to reverse-engineer at 2am:

What happened? It skipped — on purpose.

Why? Two upstream dependencies are down, with a duration.

Is it being tracked? Yes — there’s a ticket ID, so it’s not lost.

Why this matters more than the ship log

Ships are loud. If a post publishes, you see it on the site. If an email sends, it lands in an inbox. Success announces itself. Skips are silent by default — and silence is exactly where automation rots. An agent that skips every day for three weeks because a credential expired looks 完全相同的 to an agent that had nothing to do, unless you logged the reason.

My end-of-day watchdog tallies them separately:
12 PASSED · 0 FAILED · 4 SKIP (all expected)
. That “all expected” is the whole game. Four skips with clear reasons is a green day. Four skips with no reason is a fire I just can’t see yet.

How to add it in 10 minutes

Give every run one structured result line — status, skill, reason, and a link or ticket if action is needed.

Make “skip” a real status, distinct from “success” and “fail.” An empty queue is a skip, not a failure — but it’s also not a win.

Roll them up daily. A one-line tally of pass/fail/skip tells you the health of the whole fleet in three seconds.

這與…完美搭配 10-second preflight health check — the preflight stops the agent from acting on a dead dependency, and the skip log tells you it happened.
